Y4 Trip to Shri Venkateswara Temple

Our Year 4 children visited the Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple, near Dudley, to support their learning about the Hindu Faith in Religious Education.  The children spent the day with our guide, Joti, exploring the shrines dedicated to different Hindu deities and watched Hindus as they worshipped.  They enjoyed listening to Hindu stories and tasted the delicious food from the temple kitchen.

I enjoyed listening  to the stories and looking at the different shrines, and seeing the priest pray.

I loved the whole thing!!!

I learned so much about Hindus and their way of life – and the lemon rice was amazing!!!

I enjoyed learning about all of the different deities that Hindus believe in.

I loved the main temple, it was amazing and beautifully decorated.

I’m really pleased that me and my husband decided to allow my son to go on the school trip, he had a great time, learnt lots and especially enjoyed the lemon rice!! If I gave him that at home he would turn his nose up at it!!
